Yedu Terms & conditions

Effective 8 October 2026. Version 1.0.

Part A applies to all Yedu experiences. Part B sets out the conditions specific to the experience you have booked. Where Part B conflicts with Part A, Part B prevails.

Part A: General conditions

1. Agreement

1.1 These Terms govern all experiences, tours, itineraries and related services (each a "Tour") provided by [registered business name], a sole proprietorship registered in Chongqing, People's Republic of China, unified social credit code [number], trading as Yedu / 野渡 ("Yedu", "we", "us", "our").

1.2 "Guest" or "you" means the person making a booking and every person included in it. The person making the booking warrants that they are authorised to accept these Terms on behalf of all persons in the booking and have brought these Terms to the attention of each of them.

1.3 By paying a deposit, joining a Tour, or confirming acceptance in writing, you accept these Terms in full. If you do not accept them, do not book.

1.4 These Terms, together with the written booking confirmation we send you, constitute the entire agreement between you and Yedu and supersede any prior statement, representation or understanding, whether oral or written, including anything said on social media, in messages or by a guide.

1.5 Guests are required to read the clauses marked in bold, which limit or exclude our liability, allocate risk to you, or permit us to terminate your participation.

2. Bookings, prices and payment

2.1 All bookings begin with an enquiry. A booking exists only when (a) we have confirmed a date and group in writing, and (b) the deposit has been received. No place is reserved before both conditions are met.

2.2 Deposit. A deposit is payable at the rate stated for the Tour in Part B. Deposits are personal to the named guest and may not be transferred to another person.

2.3 Balance. The balance is payable as stated in Part B. Guests who have not settled the balance before the Tour begins may be refused participation, and the deposit will be forfeited.

2.4 Prices. Prices are quoted per guest and confirmed in writing at the time of booking. We may change published prices at any time; a confirmed booking is not repriced. Currency conversion is indicative only and the rate applied is the rate at the time of payment. Third-party payment processing fees are not refundable by us.

2.5 Group size. Minimum and maximum group sizes are stated for each Tour in Part B.

2.6 Promotional rates. Discounted, founding or promotional rates are subject to the conditions stated at the time of the offer, are limited in number, and may be withdrawn at any time.

3. Changes and cancellation

3.1 Deposits are non-refundable except as expressly stated in clauses 3.4, 3.5 and 3.6.

3.2 Cancellation by you. If you notify us at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time, we will transfer your deposit once to another available date within three months, subject to availability. If you cancel within 24 hours of the start time, or do not wish to rebook, the deposit is forfeited in full.

3.3 Non-arrival. We will wait 15 minutes at the stated meeting point. After that time the Tour will proceed and your booking will be treated as a cancellation under clause 3.2, with no refund and no obligation to provide any part of the Tour.

3.4 Minimum numbers not met. Where a Tour requires a minimum number of guests and that number is not reached, we will notify you at least 24 hours before the start time and you may elect to transfer to another date, upgrade to a private Tour at the applicable rate, or receive a full refund of the deposit.

3.5 Cancellation by us. We reserve the right to cancel, reschedule or modify any Tour. Where we cancel, you may elect to transfer to another date or receive a full refund of the deposit. Our liability in these circumstances is limited to the refund of sums paid to us, and we are not liable for any other costs you may incur, including travel, accommodation or other arrangements.

3.6 Weather. Tours operate in rain and in all ordinary weather conditions. Where we determine, in our sole discretion, that conditions are unsafe, clause 3.5 applies. Where we determine a Tour may safely proceed and you elect not to attend, clause 3.2 applies.

3.7 Itinerary changes. Stops, dishes, routes, guides and timings are indicative. We may substitute any element of a Tour without notice, including where a venue is closed, an ingredient is unavailable or conditions require it. Such substitution does not entitle you to a refund or reduction.

4. Food and drink

4.1 All allergies, intolerances, dietary requirements and medical dietary restrictions must be disclosed in writing at the time of booking. We cannot accommodate requirements disclosed after a booking is confirmed, and we cannot accommodate any requirement disclosed on the day.

4.2 Where a Tour includes food, the venues, the degree of control over ingredients, and the dietary requirements that can be accommodated are set out for that Tour in Part B.

4.3 Your decision. Your guide will identify each dish before it is eaten. The decision to consume any food or beverage is yours alone and is made at your own risk.

4.4 Illness. We accept no liability for illness, allergic reaction, food poisoning, gastrointestinal upset or any other adverse reaction arising from food or beverages consumed during or after a Tour, whether purchased by us, by you, or provided by a third-party venue.

4.5 Alcohol. Alcohol is not supplied by us unless expressly stated in Part B. Guests may purchase alcohol at their own expense and risk. We may refuse participation to, or remove from a Tour, any guest who in our sole judgement is intoxicated or whose consumption of alcohol affects their safety or that of others. No refund is payable.

5. Physical requirements

5.1 Tours are conducted on foot in a city built on hills. Routes include uneven paving, kerbs, gradients, steps and stairways, on public streets shared with pedestrian, scooter and vehicle traffic. Distance, duration and accessibility for each Tour are stated in Part B.

5.2 Guests are responsible for assessing their own fitness to participate and for raising any concern before booking.

5.3 Appropriate footwear is required. We may refuse participation to any guest whose footwear or physical condition presents, in our sole judgement, a safety risk.

6. Health and medical matters

6.1 You warrant that you are in a fit state of health to participate and that you have disclosed any condition relevant to your participation, including but not limited to cardiac, respiratory, gastrointestinal, mobility and pregnancy-related conditions.

6.2 Guides are not medically trained. In an emergency a guide will summon assistance. We accept no responsibility for the provision, quality, timeliness or cost of any medical treatment, nor for any outcome arising from a medical event.

6.3 Guests must not attend while unwell or displaying symptoms of an infectious illness. Participation while symptomatic is a breach of these Terms and we may remove you from the Tour without refund.

6.4 You assume all risk of exposure to communicable disease arising from participation in a Tour or from being in a public place.

7. Minors

7.1 Guests under 18 must be accompanied throughout by a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on their behalf and is responsible for their supervision, conduct and safety at all times.

7.2 Whether minors may join a particular Tour is stated in Part B.

8. Conduct

8.1 Guests must comply with the reasonable instructions of their guide at all times, particularly regarding road safety, and must behave respectfully towards venue operators, residents and other guests.

8.2 We may terminate the participation of any guest, immediately and without refund, where in our sole judgement that guest's conduct is unsafe, unlawful, abusive, materially disruptive, or disrespectful toward venue staff, residents or other guests. Where participation is terminated, you are responsible for your own onward arrangements.

9. Assumption of risk

9.1 You acknowledge that participation in a Tour involves inherent risks, including but not limited to: slips, trips and falls on uneven or wet surfaces and stairways; road and traffic hazards; exposure to heat, humidity, rain, smoke and open cooking fires; crowding; theft; and the acts or omissions of third parties. Where a Tour includes food, those risks also include the consumption of unfamiliar foods, allergic and adverse reactions, and food-borne illness.

9.2 You voluntarily accept these risks and participate at your own risk.

10. Limitation of liability

10.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the laws of the People's Republic of China.

10.2 Subject to clause 10.1, our total aggregate liability to you arising out of or in connection with a Tour, whether in contract, tort, negligence, statutory duty or otherwise, is limited to the total amount you have paid to us for that Tour.

10.3 Subject to clause 10.1, we are not liable for any indirect, consequential, special or incidental loss, nor for loss of profit, loss of enjoyment, loss of opportunity, missed transport or connections, additional accommodation, or costs arising from the alteration of your travel arrangements.

11. Third-party suppliers

11.1 Restaurants, stalls, market operators, transport providers and other third parties engaged in connection with a Tour are independent businesses and are not our employees or agents. We act solely as organiser and intermediary.

11.2 We are not liable for the acts, omissions, negligence, standards, hygiene, products or default of any third-party supplier.

12. Indemnity

12.1 You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Yedu, its owner, employees, guides and contractors against all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your negligence, your wilful misconduct, or any damage you cause to the property of a third party during a Tour.

13. Insurance

13.1 You are not insured by us. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel and medical insurance valid in the People's Republic of China, covering medical treatment, repatriation, cancellation and personal belongings.

14. Personal belongings

14.1 Guests are responsible for their own belongings at all times. We accept no liability for loss, theft or damage to personal property during or in connection with a Tour.

15. Force majeure

15.1 We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where that failure or delay results from events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, extreme weather, flood, fire, earthquake, epidemic or pandemic, government or public health measures, civil disorder, strike, terrorism, war, power or network failure, traffic restriction, or the closure of venues or public spaces.

15.2 Where a Tour cannot proceed due to such an event, clause 3.5 applies.

16. Photography, film and publicity

16.1 We photograph and film Tours. By participating, you grant Yedu a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to reproduce, edit and publish photographs and recordings in which you appear, for marketing and editorial purposes across any medium.

16.2 Guests who do not wish to appear must inform their guide at the start of the Tour. We will take reasonable steps to exclude them. You may withdraw consent at any time by written notice, and we will remove the relevant material from channels under our control within a reasonable period; withdrawal does not apply to material already printed, distributed or published by third parties.

16.3 Guests booking at a promotional or founding rate consent to being photographed and agree to provide written feedback after the Tour as a condition of that rate.

16.4 Guests may take photographs for personal use. Permission must be sought before photographing venue staff or residents. Commercial photography, filming, drone operation and content production require our prior written consent.

17. Intellectual property

17.1 All content published by Yedu, including itineraries, route design, written material, photographs, video, guides, recommendations and the Yedu name and marks, remains our property or that of our licensors.

17.2 Itineraries, venue lists and materials supplied to guests are for personal use only and may not be reproduced, published or used commercially, including to operate or design a competing tour.

18. Personal data

18.1 We collect and process the personal data necessary to administer your booking: name, contact details, booking dates, dietary information and payment records. Dietary and health information is processed solely to deliver the Tour safely.

18.2 We do not sell personal data. We share it only with payment processors and with guides delivering your Tour. Data is retained for as long as required for our legal and accounting obligations.

18.3 You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by written notice to the contact address below.

19. Complaints

19.1 Any complaint should be raised with your guide during the Tour so that it may be addressed at the time. Complaints not raised during the Tour must be submitted in writing within 14 days of the Tour date. We will respond within 14 days of receipt.

20. General

20.1 Amendments. We may amend these Terms at any time. The version applicable to your booking is the version published at the date your deposit was received.

20.2 Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

20.3 No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision or of any other.

20.4 Assignment. You may not transfer your booking or any rights under these Terms without our written consent.

20.5 Third parties. No person other than you and Yedu has any right to enforce these Terms.

20.6 Language. These Terms are issued in English. Where a translation is provided and a discrepancy arises, the English version prevails.

Part B: Tour-specific conditions

These conditions apply in addition to Part A. Where they conflict with Part A, these conditions prevail.

Prices, deposits and inclusions for each Tour are those published on the booking page for that Tour and confirmed to you in writing at the time of booking. RMB is the reference currency; any figure shown in another currency is indicative only and the final amount is calculated at the applicable rate on the day of payment.

B1. Chongqing Night Food Tour

Six street-food stops across one residential neighbourhood, on foot, in the evening, ending at a viewpoint over the river. Approximately three hours, under 2km on foot, with approximately 100m between stops.

Minimum two guests and maximum six. Guests may book individually and will be placed with others booked for the same date. The balance is payable in RMB before the first stop.

This Tour visits small, independent, family-operated street kitchens. These venues do not label ingredients, do not maintain allergen controls, do not operate separate preparation areas, and share cooking oil, utensils and surfaces between dishes. Ingredient information is obtained verbally from the operator and translated by your guide on a best-efforts basis.

We do not warrant that any dish is free from any specific ingredient or allergen, and we cannot prevent cross-contamination. Peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, wheat and gluten, soy, shellfish, fish, dairy, egg and chilli are present across the route and may be present in any dish.

Guests with severe, anaphylactic or life-threatening allergies must not book this Tour. Where such a condition is disclosed we will decline or cancel the booking. Where it is not disclosed, participation is entirely at the guest's own risk.

Vegetarian requirements can be accommodated, with substitutions at certain stops. Reduced chilli can be requested at every stop; chilli cannot be eliminated. Vegan and gluten-free requirements cannot be accommodated on this route.

This route is suitable for guests with reduced mobility, including wheelchair users. Distances between stops are short and the route avoids stairways. Please tell us before booking so that your guide can plan seating and approaches at each venue.

Minors are accepted on private bookings, and on shared Tours by prior agreement only; the food is spicy and the Tour runs late into the evening.

B2. Chongqing Walk Tour

A full day on foot through the city, with a route planned around your interests. Seven hours of guiding.

One to six guests. Groups of seven or more must contact us at least one month in advance and are quoted separately, based on group size and logistics; pricing for such groups is not a per-person multiple of the published rates. The deposit is charged per booking rather than per guest, and the balance is payable in RMB on the day.

Lunch at a venue of our choosing is included, as are route planning, the Ultimate Chongqing Guide, and messaging support before your arrival. Drinks, breakfast, dinner, transport, admission tickets, insurance and personal shopping are not included. Tea and snack stops typically run ¥30 to ¥80 per person.

Lunch can be adapted to most dietary requirements if disclosed at the time of booking. Clause 4 of Part A applies to all food consumed on this Tour.

This Tour is not suitable for wheelchair users or for guests who require mobility assistance. The route covers a full day on foot and includes stairways, steep gradients and uneven surfaces. Guests with reduced mobility should consider a private Tour under B3, where the route is planned around your requirements.

Accompanied minors are welcome.

B3. Private and custom day Tours

A fully customised day planned around your interests, with transport throughout. Seven hours of guiding and vehicle time.

One to eight guests. Groups of nine or more must contact us at least one month in advance and are quoted separately, based on group size and logistics; pricing for such groups is not a per-person multiple of the published rates. The balance is payable in RMB on the day.

Included are customised route planning; transport for the day, being a premium ride-hailing vehicle for one to three guests or a private vehicle for four or more; a lunch of our selection; the Ultimate Chongqing Guide; one round of itinerary revisions; and messaging support from one week before arrival and throughout your stay. Insurance, admission tickets, breakfast, dinner, drinks and personal shopping are not included.

Groups of one to three may upgrade to a private vehicle for an additional charge. Further rounds of itinerary revision beyond the first are chargeable. Vehicle time beyond seven hours is charged at an hourly rate, payable on the day. Current rates for these are published on the booking page.

The itinerary is prepared on the basis of the preferences you provide. Requests to change the itinerary on the day are accommodated where practicable but may affect timings, and no refund arises where elements of the planned itinerary cannot then be delivered.

Lunch can be adapted to most dietary requirements if disclosed at the time of booking. Clause 4 of Part A applies to all food consumed on this Tour.

Routes are planned around your requirements. Please tell us of any mobility requirement before booking so that the route and vehicle can be planned accordingly. Accompanied minors are welcome.

Clause 3.2 of Part A is varied for private and custom Tours. A guide and a vehicle are reserved for the full day. If you notify us at least 72 hours before the scheduled start time, we will transfer your deposit once to another available date within three months, subject to availability. If you cancel within 72 hours of the start time, or do not wish to rebook, the deposit is forfeited in full. Clauses 3.3 to 3.7 of Part A apply unchanged.
